The manta is an awsome device that has really helped me organize my work and my life. I dont have to have multiple notebooks for different things or carry around out dated information because I wrote it down on paper. Noone gets better from praise so here is what needs to be addressed in my opinion. I a maintenance supervisor for a college so alot of the time im in dusty dirty environments. I feel like an more covering option than the half folio to to protect the surface of the manta.it would also be nice if a folio existed that had a sleeve for other paper documents I often find myself putting meeting documents or invoices between the screen and folio that could fall out. The sync doesn't always work like it should and the partner app needs work to run correctly. It gets stuck on old info and wont update. Add more color and variety to the folio line up. Same with the click pen add more variety of color. Overall a fantastic product. I hope that supernote will continue to support the platform
I like having a backup to the LAMY. This is a daily use pen.
this product has done everything expected and more. One source for all work needs.
I’m a Biology PhD student and this tablet is perfect for writing notes during lectures and department seminars or jotting quick calculations down in the lab. It’s also been great for annotating scientific papers while reading. Albeit sometimes the lack of color can be an issue for microscopy images in papers, but for the most part the distraction-less nature of the tablet and the smooth writing feel have helped me get through many papers. I tried the nomad as well, but the larger size of the manta is perfect and the tablet is streamlined and lightweight and easily slips into my bag when running across campus.
I love my Manta and definitely wish I bought an e-ink note taking device sooner. After researching the competition, I decided on the Supernote Manta due to its size and the company's prioritization of the customer. Modular design, DIY sections, and the lack of a subscription fee were critical factors.
Using the Manta has been awesome. It truly feels like writing on good paper and its layer functionality is a game changer. Want to make a list of key tasks and then add some superficial information you'll need for some of the key tasks, you can either: A) add new pages or B) add a new layer. I find myself loving the ability to add a layer because now a single page can get me through complicated tasks without needing to scroll. While it will take some trial and error to learn the best directory/note structure for your use case, the overall feel is quite intuitive.
My one complaint is the lack of device encryption/"secure operating system". I would love to be approved to use my Manta for work items, but the outdated android base system and lack of device encryption are complete blockers. Even with that limitation, I still use it for non-internal work documentation. Think of reference guides or public requirements documents. It's far easier to digest these documents on my Manta, then use my own notes/digests as a reference guide to craft internal documents/solutions that align and cite industry standards and expectations.
