A Day in the Life with Supernote: Robert Kohr, Director of Animation & VFX
"I don't look at the Supernote as a replacement for an iPad, which I have here, or a Wacom, which I have here. I look at it as a different class, that strength is in note-taking. The analog to note-taking in art is sketching."
Robert Kohr says it plainly. Then he shows what it looks like on his desk.
A pen with a super thin nib. A screen with unique texture to it. A charge that lasts. Tools chosen on purpose. Nothing to distract, he says.
Robert did Flash animation on Dora the Explorer, was a VFX supervisor at Nickelodeon, and helped build an animation team in New York. What he uses Supernote for is the step before the finished thing. Ideation. A pause.
