A totally different writing experience than a tablet. I would never go back to a regular tablet for writing or drawing. I hope they put in shapes eventually. A person has to try it in order to understand the writing experience because it’s hard to explain. Amazing device.
I've spent about 10 years doing all my writing on paper and pen. Which I have thoroughly enjoyed and even have some fancy pens that I love to use to this day. But I ran into the same problem of having my notes in several different notebooks and misplacing those notebooks. Or just not committing to writing into a new notebook until I found the perfect one. I did but found it harder to find than I thought. So after much research I settled on the nomad and have loved it since day 1. The ability to organize and link other pages, read books, and sketch has been wonderful and I love seeing how I can add little flourishes into my everyday writing. It's been a godsend since I also started a new marketing job. I honestly would reach out and find reviews if this tablet is for you. Because I mainly need it for notes and writing and it fulfills that promise. Plus getting three days of charge for not even a full charge is a wonderfully different set of pace compared to all my other electronics.
This has been the best device and solution for my never-ending, wasted pages of a typical paper notebook. I’m always spending a little bit of extra time to reconfigure my notes exactly how I want them after my thoughts are jotted down. I thought I loved this device and then they came out with the new beta software that allows for recognizing handwriting and converting to a text box. This will be the update that I hope kills every other E ink productivity tablet brand. I have done way too much research on which device to buy, and I ultimately landed on this one. I could not be happier with my purchase. I use my nomad EVERY DAY for work, studying, and the to-do list. It has come in handy with the cloud option at work where I’m able to quickly pull up files that I know I have saved on my nomad when I don’t have it on me. This device is getting better and better. Even though there are slight glitches in software sometimes I still am very confident that this is a five star product. The Ratta team is quick to respond to feedback submitted through the device and is always looking to improve. I currently use it with a Noris Jumbo pen but will be upgrading to the ceramic super note pen soon. Thank you Ratta! 5 stars well earned!
I've been looking at getting a Supernote Nomad for over a year, and finally had enough saved for it. I have found so many uses for it that it's been life changing. It's multiple notebooks in one! I use it for work, for my hobbies, for planning trips and packing lists. I used it to stim draw at one point and it was amazing. In less than two months I have over a dozen notes, and the fact I can create folders for them is fabulous. In other words, if my Nomad breaks I will probably cry. And I definitely recommend it to anyone who asks about it.
What a great peice of tech. I live Journaling and being organized. Always lost inter when it was all on paper, but with the supernote having it all in one, customizable, ready to carry, multiple writing tool options. It's a new obsession.
I purchased the Nomad and Lamy pen and I loved it. The product is great and the size is perfect. I then ordered the Manta and the Heart of metal pen and I could not be happier. I was going to decide which to keep but ended up keeping both.
This product is great. Really love the writing experience and the ability to use my vast library of eBooks and papers (mostly in PDF format) to take annotations. I feel the PDF annotation features are good but there's room for improvement. And I'm excited for what's to come.
For work, as a manager I had 5 different notebooks, a paper to-do template, and a dry erase board as my only way of managing meetings, notes, and "to-do's". While I am still exploring all of the superb options my Supernote Manta has, it has SIGNIFICANTLY improved my work efficiency. I made a table to contents with links to the different notebooks, and the STAR method has helped me to find and NOT forget to-do items from meetings to add it to my list. Furthermore, I can have ALL of my notebooks with me at ALL times in one small, compact little tablet.
A major surprise is that my absolutely HORRIBLE handwriting is actually legible on the Manta, whereas my paper notebooks are nearly illegible, even to me. Turns out I need the most super thin needle point (0.1) option to write well. The thinnest pen for actual paper I have is 0.25mm. and the difference is NOTICEABLE.
I do have the Heart of Metal 2 pen, and I LOVE it. However, I have always loved the heavier metal pens vs. a cheap BIC.
This is also my very first E-Ink tablet. "Pixel Leaves" Basic Settings and Beginners Guides on YouTube were absolutely invaluable.
The Manta met my expectations and after a couple of weeks became far more useful to me than I had anticipated! One of the best luxury purchases I have made which quickly became an item of necessity! Incredible device!
I was particularly looking for a small form factor note book I have been using a Remarkable for a number of years which is great but often found the size a issue in my workspace the supernte is a much more comfortable size. As to usability the Supernote takes a bit of getting used to but all of the functionality is there once you get used to it. It us not quite as Intuitive as the Remarkable but is lighter and smaller. I personally would like a backlight as I often work in badly lit environs where the screen becomes more difficult to read. If this becomes an upgrade I would definitely buy it. All in all this has been a good move for me:)
I bought this a few months ago as my first e-ink device outside of a loaned-kindle and was BLOWN AWAY with how enjoyable it is to use. I have done much more art and writing since getting it, plus it's been an easy reading device as well.
Drawing on it feels smooth and tactile, the latency is so low that it is nearly indistinguishable from real-time writing with a pen and paper, and it's a great size.
My favorite thing is how development of Supernote products are user-informed-- I know that even though the device is a bit of an investment, I'm not being locked into a subscription for features (looking at you, reMarkable!), and new things are being added to improve the experience all the time.
I can't stop telling my friends about it and I am utterly obsessed. I wish I could give a billion stars. Thank you Supernote team, please continue to provide the amazing service, development, and ethics you do! It's increasingly rare to find a company with such strong values <3
This tool has absolutely supercharged my note taking in meetings, work and building apps. Would recommend this to everyone and shout it from the rooftops if i need too😁
For anyone that prefers handwritten note taking this is the best product out there.
The only e-ink device that I still pick up every day even after a month. My Boox device is useful at night and has color, but the ghosting is still distracting.
The lack of frontlight isn’t as big of a deal as I thought, as regular paper doesn’t have a backlight any way, and it makes the screen closer to the pen tip.
I love that there are regular updates and that the hardware is modular.
Although the pen “color” selections are limited, I haven’t really found a need to have more than 4 shades of gray for my note-taking uses.
The companion app is also quite handy to use, since I import my notes into Obsidian.
It is rare to come across a product that I am so devoted to. SuperNote Manta is one of the rare few. I am a former voracious reader and moderately prolific writer. In this AI driven world it's been much harder to stop and make time to think, it's much easier to just let the computer do the thinking for you. I love that the SN helps me make time to write down and examine my thoughts. I have noticed how much more clear my thinking is using this.
Easy to set up and get going. Really great writing feel. The software is good and I look forward to it getting better.

My only (minor) gripes are about the folio. I wish it was sized to fit inside an A5 folio cover or had a DIY full folio cover like the Nomad. But that is not enough to stop me from loving this thing.
I'd love to see the SN folks also do a feature surfacing highlights or annotations of documents periodically, basically letting me make flashcards out of the content I've selected.
I would buy this again in a heartbeat. I am considering buying a Nomad so I have a desk version (Manta) and a purse / large pocket version (Nomad).
My first eInk notebook device and I love it. My open box Nomad looked like it was almost brand new. Love the feel of the screen.
I didn’t like the open box pen and had no issues returning it.
Would recommend purchasing one to anyone thinking about it or on the fence or looking for a digital way to take notes and doodle while disconnecting from your phone or other devices like I was. Couldn’t be happier
My Supernote has been very helpful with work immediately. Being able to organize my notes on different pages and then bookmark them with a helpful title is awesome. My handwriting is terrible but it does a decent job at knowing what I wrote so I can search across pages.
