I love this e-notes. Battery could last a bit longer but the quality and the latency are amazing. The form factor is perfect if you are on the move.
I came over from using the Remarkable b/w for about 2 years and a paper Bullet Journal before that. The Remarkable was a major upgrade, allowing me to organize and edit my notes and PDFs in a very flexible way. I bought the Supernote because of it's ability to sync with Obsidian, but it's worth the switch even without that. The writing experience is just on another level (pen on fine paper vs. pencil on glass). The Supernote pens (it's unfair to cal them styli) are a massive upgrade from the Remarkable stylus. The Supernote has a range of options, functions, apps and connectivity that the Remarkable simply can't touch. I find myself using the Supernote more often, and with more pleasure, then I used my Remarkable. About the only thing I'd suggest to the Supernote team is to develop a more robust portfolio. The included cover does the job, but it doesn't provide the same protection from knocks and drops that I'd prefer. Other than that, five stars and highly recommended.
TLDR: I love writing on this. I bring it everywhere and it serves as my main notebook I write on. However there's some minor annoyance/ideas I would like to see improve or implemented.
What I love:
Writing feel is amazing, lives up to the hype on that front.
Organization, headings, and keywords are great.
Side loading some minor yet useful apps. (Local send, kobo reader, eink bro)
Very nice to hold, I often take off my folio at night to read on it. Feels almost like holding a thin stack of paper.
annoyance/feedback:
I wish page turning was quicker. Flipping pages takes ages. I often write notes about books or media I read/watch to distill information. When I want to flip between the pages to skim or find something I wrote it takes about 1-1.5 seconds per page load vs flipping pages of a real notebook. I understand there's the "pages" button but on the Nomad, I'd have to tap the "..." and then pages which takes equally as long to go anywhere.
Holding down the left side and slide up for the quick page turn action, but I can't see where I'm going, I wish this action can be remapped to "pages" button.
I wish we can customize the toolbar. I don't often use the pixel eraser, or the insert text or the layers button. I would love to be able to replace them with the pages button, insert link, keyword, sticker etc.
The two finger tap & hold for the lasso/eraser doesn't work 30% of the time and I just ended up drawing more lines on my notes.
I wish on the quick access tap you can hide the extension of the files (ie: Daily Planner instead of "Daily Planner.note")
Reading PDF of a book on the Nomad is basically impossible. I can turn the device horizontally but the text would still be too small and the zoom is very clunky, and slow to the point of frustration.
I wish there was a "shapes" tool to draw boxes, circles, and other unique shapes. (I guess technically "stickers" could work for this)
More Brush/Pens and sizes options on the Note app! :D
The ability to to set the cover screen saver as the last thing you see. (For example I would love to be able to put my "todo list" on the screen saver whenever I lock it after I'm done wiring down so it's there without having to wake the device first)
some extra items on the wish list (that I know are pretty unrealistic):
A more powerful chip and newer version of Andriod. This would help apps like Kindle, Kobo and other 3rd party apps run much smoother and pleasant for reading and other tasks.
Colors! (I read the FAQ already, but I still wish some day there will be!) having colors on my notes would be such a game gamer much easier to sort, and make things pop and easy to read.
That's about it. Overall I really like my Nomad, if some or all of the annoyance/ features gets addressed, this would be the WORLD'S BEST eink tablet for note taking out there! thank you for reading.
